Speaking on Tuesday at the ceremony of receiving credentials of the new ambassador of Greece to Tehran Stylianos Gavril, President Raisi expressed hope that the close and friendly ties between Iran and Greece will pave the way for enhancing cooperation in various economic, political, and cultural areas.
Referring to the failure of the outrageous sanctions imposed on Iran, President Raisi underlined that the Islamic Republic of Iran welcomes the development of relations with Greece.
Gavril, for his part, said that Iranians are a great nation in the world and today the Islamic Republic of Iran is an important and influential country not only in the region, but also in the world.
Pointing to the deep-rooted relations between Iran and Greece, he added that Greece, based on the principle of mutual respect in its foreign policy, seeks to expand relations with Iran in the fields of mutual interests.
